The sports complex was handed over to the Foundation in 2005 with its formation by the Parliament Act No. 19 0f 2005. The play ground has been developed and constructed by the Football Federation at a cost of Rs. 25 million in 2011. The Gymnasium and indoor Badminton Court were declared opened in 2012. Due to the financial constrains faced by the Thondaman Foundation, any new major development work in the Complex is not done in 2016. However, Government institutions and Schools in the vicinity utilized this complex during the year 2016, for their sports activities.
